Here's the ad on Craigslist: I'm going with this friend of a friend this weekend so he can play it.
The owner passed away and the family is selling his house, so the are trying to sell the piano, but not trying very hard because their first asking price was $10,000 (yes, $1000 over what it was bought for in 1992, LOL), and now it's at $8500. When I played it back in April, the action was noticeably heavier than my Yamaha U1, but now that I have my Baldwin R, I think it's just a tad heavier. Sellers refuse to tune it, so it certainly needs that, but it doesn't sound bad, just out of tune. The hammers have only very small dents in the mid register. The piano has seen very little playing time. Anyway, it had one owner, an elderly gentleman who didn't end up playing it that much because (he told his daughter) the action was too heavy and made his hands hurt.

I say it was bought 'as new' in 1992, but the manufacture year is somewhere between 1986-1989, according to the serial number, so it wasn't "new", just not yet sold. The case is in excellent condition and looks new. It was bought as new in 1992 for $9,000 (high price is mostly due to the rare case/finish, which is called 'Emperor' it's mahogany with rosewood inlay), otherwise it's just a regular G-175 5'9". I looked at this piano back in April, a tech checked it out and said it needed some regulation and a tuning, but that it's hardly been played. So this piano is still for sale, and I have a friend of a friend who may be interested in it.
